Kelsie Michael: When I am not slinging shoes with my homies at Run816 you can find me professionally petting dogs at the small business I manage, Sydney’s Pet Spa. When I am not out making that paper, you can likely find me running through Kansas City with my runner friends, coaching Girls on the Run or drinking local coffee/beer with my fiancé & fellow Run816 shoe nerd, Kevin
Jessica England: Jessica grew up in rural, small town Oquawka, Il. along the Mississippi River. She graduated from the University of Missouri with a B.S. in Agricultural Journalism and from the University of Arkansas with a M.S. in Agricultural Communications. Jess works at Osborn Barr Paramore (O+B|P) as an account manager for the United Soybean Board helping promote the value of U.S. soy and increasing profit for all U.S. soybean farmers. Besides slinging running shoes at RUN 816 on the weekends you can find her running, taking a yoga class, recycling, reading, traveling, trying to be creative/crafty with calligraphy, going on an adventure, or somewhere outdoors.
Loren Teachey: Originally from Northwest Georgia, I have been a runner, both casual and competitive, since age 10. I moved to Kansas City out of college in 2016, and have fallen for the charm of the Midwest. While not logging miles, I enjoy collecting watches, hiking, camping, trying new recipes, binging podcasts and watching crime dramas with my girlfriend.
Allia Shelby: I’m a fun loving Texas gal and graduated from Texas A&M! I moved to KC in 2017 and LOVE it here! I teach high school Biomedical Science and in my free time I love to do anything outdoors: running, biking, hiking, drinking on patios.
Mario Martinucci: I’m a transplant from Minnesota that’s been in KC for 3 years. Outside of working at Run 816, I enjoy traveling, eating good food and spending time with friends. I actively participate in different running groups in the KC area and enjoy getting involved in all that KC has to offer. My favorite area to run in the 816 is Brookside and Waldo. My guilty pleasures include eating peanut butter by the spoon straight from the jar.
Colin Cernik: I love romantic comedies and home roasting coffee beans. Sometimes I play the banjo and dream of owning a corgi or two. Here are some questions I answered so you can get to know me better:
What is your biggest fear? Needles.
What is a funny name for a pet? David.
Perfect Sunday? A long run with some friends while talking about romantic comedies, coffee, banjos, corgis, being afraid of needles, and how David is a funny name for a pet.
Amber Harris: Amber is a wife and mother to 2 amazing kids. When Amber is not nerding out about running shoes or actually running, she spends her time helping others to reach their fitness goals as a personal trainer and running coach.
Kevin Boren: We all know that Kevin is a phenomenal (adequate) team member at Run816, but did you know that he has earned over 110 Boy Scout merit badges? Perhaps you’ve met Kevin whilst he was recommending a shoe, or maybe you overheard him reciting a joke that he already used last week. He doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon, so make sure to say hello if you see him on a group run, hanging out at the shop, or visiting many of his favorite local spots around Midtown.
Drew Clausen: Drew is originally from Omaha, Nebraska and has lived in Kansas City for around 4 years. When he’s not running or at the store, Drew works as a graphic designer and teaches yoga classes around town. You can also catch Drew watching a soccer game or at a local brewery. If you find yourself needing to get on Drew’s good side he is easily bribed via pancakes and or waffles.
Mark Westfall: I started running in junior high and high school. In high school I was on varsity, but never fast enough to earn a medal. After high school I never thought of myself being able to win any awards. The past ten years I have been a competitive runner- averaging twenty races a year with many podium finishes. The distances I run now begin with the 800, mile, two miles on the track and end with the marathon. The marathon is my favorite and the 5k comes in second. I have run seven marathons which were all fast enough to qualify for Boston. I enjoy many things about the sport of running such as collecting memorabilia, offering training tips or watching races on tv. Outside of running I play disc golf and attend art and music festivals.
Kyle Baldwin: Born and raised in the northland, I was brought up with a great appreciation of Kansas City. Now living in the heart of it all, I have come to love the culture and community in midtown, specifically the running community. When I’m not working at Run 816 you can find me on group runs around town with my friends or hanging out with the best dog in the world, Maverick.
Johnii Barbarino: I recently moved to Kansas City from Southern California where I worked in advertising. I enjoy creating in various mediums, music being my primary joy. I’m also a freelance photographer/videographer. You can usually catch me climbing, biking, and of course running...just not as far as my coworkers.
Rachel Foster: Hellooooo, Kansas City runners and visitors! My name is Rachel and I love runningthruKC. When I am not running the town with my friends, you can find me drinking copious amounts of local coffee and beer, or hanging out with my rescue pitbull, Ollie! I work in the education scene in Kansas City and while I LOVE to travel our beautiful country (big fan of mountains and bodies of water,) I feel really lucky to call Kansas City and Run816 my home.
Steve Daley: Ran 4 years in high school ( XC & Track), took 30 years off from running and have been at again now since 2000. I like competing at distances from 800m to half marathon and encouraging everyone to go out hard and hang on (just to bug Coach Colleen). I've been working part time at RUN816 since 2015. Prior to that I was GM at another running store from 2006-2015. Previous to my running retail career I ran a stained glass business from 1982 to 2005. Still tinkering with glass work in my spare time. Love being part of the Mid-Town running community!
Rainey Rinaldi: I am a momma to three beautiful 👧, wife to one hot 🧔🏻,and I love to 🏃♀️ trails. I put on one heck of a car concert 🎤 and love to road trip 🚗. I am a🦂, like trying new restaurants and love a good mixed drink 🍹.
Lindsey Eaton: I’m a native Kansas Citian and I really love this city! I have always been a Royals and Chiefs fan even when they’re losing. My big kid job is in Human Resources.
Favorite BBQ is Rosedale, they have the best Burnt Ends ……. I know, let the discussion begin. I love serving the KC running community and something I look forward to each week. It’s an amazing group of people and a place where everyone is welcome!
ALL PACES. ALL DISTANCES, ALL ARE WELCOME.
Nick and Tracy Pigg: Lifelong KC residents, except for a few years between 2008-2014 when they lived in Galesburg, IL and opened their first running store, Go Outside and Play. Once they decided it was time to move home, they sold the store in 2014 and packed their bags. Shortly after moving home, they opened Run 816 in March 2015. Just like peanut butter and jelly or cheese and crackers, they go good together. Nick is the self proclaimed Shoe Nerd and handles all things shoe related for the shop - ordering them, selling them, telling endless stats about them, you get the idea. Tracy prefers to be a bit more behind the scenes, so if you see it on a screen (social media, website, emails, etc)- that's all her. When they aren't running, or Run 816ing, they like to spend time together hanging out with their 3 (newly retired) shop dogs and binge watching The Office and crime dramas on Netflix. Nick enjoys a chai tea latte, watching documentaries on just about anything, and playing pool. Tracy's favorite meal is a cheeseburger and fries with a gin & tonic, her yoga mat is her happy place (especially if her sister is teaching!), and she's never found a craft project she didn't like. She also loves coaching
3rd and 4th grade girls in Girls On The Run- ask her about it!
